Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences

Professional Linkage Seminars

Professional Linkage Seminars (formerly called Senior Linkage Seminars) offer sophomores, juniors and seniors (or, in some cases, only seniors) the opportunity to explore links between the academic programs of the College and issues and practice in the outside world. These special courses are taught by non-academics with an affinity for the liberal arts and a gift for intellectual inquiry. For example, an attorney who has worked in the juvenile court system has offered a course on how the court's practices relate to children's psychological and psychosocial development. A policy analyst working with the American Medical Association has offered a course on Medical Ethics, and staff members from institutions such as the Field Museum and the Chicago Historical Society have taught courses on the role of museums in culture. Enrollment in each Professional Linkage Seminars is limited to 15 Weinberg College students. If space allows, students from other schools may entroll in these courses.

More information on Professional Linkage Seminars, including descriptions of current or recent offerings, is available online.
