When you meet with your Freshman Adviser or College Adviser, you will talk about your progress toward completing degree requirements. You will also discuss requirements with major or minor advisers, and this will be an important focus when you meet to complete the Petition to Graduate one year prior to your graduation. Frequent advising meetings are a good idea, especially when you are uncertain about a rule or if you are having difficulty choosing among options.
You should keep track of your progress on your own as well. Carefully read the section of the Undergraduate Catalog describing your chosen major, as well as printed and online documents provided by the department or program. If anything is confusing or unclear, be sure to check with the Director of Undergraduate Studies for your major or with your College Adviser.
Weinberg College has prepared major worksheets and minor worksheets to help you keep track of College and major requirements. Completing the relevant form and updating it regularly will help you keep track of what requirements you have already completed—and of what you still need to do. Many departments and programs also provide worksheets for their major and minor programs.
