Adjunct Majors

Some of the majors offered by Weinberg College are adjunct majors. These majors do not stand alone. If you complete an adjunct major, then you must complete another major as well. The adjunct majors are:

  • Asian and Middle East Studies
  • Gender Studies
  • Geography
  • International Studies
  • Legal Studies
  • Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences
  • Science in Human Culture

Legal Studies and Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences (MMSS) are also special admission majors.

If you do an adjunct major, be sure to discuss the choice of your second major with a WCAS or major adviser; some adjunct majors mesh particularly well with others (MMSS and Economics, for instance). Most adjunct majors also have more liberal double-counting rules.
