Question 1: Is the Minor indicated on my diploma?
Answer: No, neither the minor or the major are identified on the diploma. Your degree, Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science is inscribed on your diploma. Your minor is indicated in the memoranda box on your transcript.

Question 2: Is there a separate GPA reported on my BIP minor?
Answer: No. The GPA on your transcript is an overall GPA for all your courses completed to date.

Question 3: I've signed up for summer school at another university and hope to receive credit toward my economics major. Any advice?
Answer: This question was thoroughly answered in the Economics newsletter: "If you are considering taking summer courses elsewhere for which you hope to receive economics credit, you should meet with the Director of Undergraduate Studies BEFORE ENROLLING so that he can advise you on the likelihood of economics credit being granted. A final decision about economics credit usually cannot be made until you have completed the course and the Director has had an opportunity to review it with you. Be sure to keep your textbooks, syllabi, notes, exams, and other course material and bring them to Evanston when you return." This is good advice regardless of your major.

Question 4: I have taken Ethics 260 and am planning on counting it toward my BIP minor and also as a WCAS Values distribution requirement. Would this be considered double-counting?
Answer: No. WCAS distribution requirements do not count toward the three courses you are allowed to double-count.

Question 5: I am an Economics major. Some of the BIP Sociology courses could also be counted toward my Related courses requirement. Is this considered double-counting?
Answer: No. Related courses do not count toward the three courses you are allowed to double-count.

Question 6: Last quarter I participated in the Chicago Field Studies Program and earned 4 course credits. Can any of those credits be counted toward my BIP minor?
Answer: Yes. The Business Institutions Program will accept one of your credits from the Chicago Field Studies Program to be counted as one of the BIP elective course requirements. Please see Lucy Millman, the Program Assistant for paperwork details.
