KAPNICK PRIZE > Description

The Kapnick Prize is awarded each year to the most outstanding students graduating with a minor in Business Institutions. To be eligible for the award, you must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 in your major, as well as in the courses applied to the BIP minor. The selection will also be based on other activities such as extracurriculars and research projects or papers relating to Business Institutions.

Early spring quarter, a selection committee will conduct reviews to identify a set of candidates who meet the requirements. The candidates will then be asked to submit supporting material. Any student selected for a Kapnick Prize will receive a cash award and a plaque to commemorate the honor.

The prize is named for Chicago businessman Harvey Kapnick who endowed a chair, currently held by Professor Braeutigam in the economics department. Any questions about the Kapnick Prize should be directed to Lucy Millman in the Business Institutions Program Office, 491-2706 or to lucym@northwestern.edu.
