Matzkin's research focuses on the discovery of new restrictions of economic theory, as well as on known restrictions, to develop nonparametric estimation and testing methods in various econometric models. Her methods are useful for models of consumer demand, price determination, and choice among a finite number of alternatives, among other things. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1986.
