The Office of Fellowships announces the Morris K. Udall Scholarship for2008-09. The $5,000 awards are for students committed to a career relatedto the environment. Current sophomores and juniors who are U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents are eligible to apply. The Foundation looks for commitment to the environment in one or more of the following pursuits: campus activities, research, and public service. GPA is a less important consideration; students with at least a B are encouraged to apply.
Along with the scholarship, the Foundation covers expenses to gather winners at an orientation in Tucson, Arizona August 2-6. This event introduces new Udall Scholars to the network of past winners who work as environmental consultants, urban planners, lawyers, educators, and other positions.
