Minor in the Study of Evolutionary Processes

The study of evolution transcends the boundaries of a single department and can be approached through fields such as, but not limited to, anthropology, biology, geology, history, philosophy, and physics and astronomy. The minor provides a comprehensive, interdisciplinary curriculum in the study of Evolutionary Processes.

In addition to a focused curriculum, participation in the minor will facilitate the interaction of students with faculty who are conducting research on evolution enabling the development of undergraduate research projects in these areas. Undergraduates can draw on the talents of faculty who are distributed throughout a number of different departments to strengthen their research projects. There are also research opportunities available for undergraduates at the Field Museum of Natural History, the Chicago Botanic Garden, and other Chicago Area Institutions.
