Hewlett Fund
Awards Program
Grants or matching funds are
available to one or more faculty
members or departments for
projects that enhance
undergraduate curricular
innovation and development. It
should be emphasized that the
Fund is designated for curricular
improvement; for example, for
planning and evaluation studies,
experimentation, program
initiation, equipment for
classrooms and teaching
laboratories, or response to
special opportunities not funded
within the college's normal
budget. The fund is not to be
used for such activities
typically in the college's budget
as regular instructional or
administrative salaries, standard
faculty leaves, faculty research,
except as it relates to
undergraduate teaching
responsibilities, plant
construction, renovation or
maintenance. Nor is it designed
to fund continuing activities. Grants to individual faculty
members generally range from $500
to $5,000, although groups and
programs/departments may apply
for larger grants.
