Courses

Jewish Studies at Northwestern encompasses courses on cultural, historical, linguistic, literary, philosophical, political, religious, and sociological topics. Thus, most Jewish Studies courses are cross listings; that is, they are offered by specific academic departments and also listed under Jewish Studies to indicate that the courses may count toward the minors offered in Jewish or Hebrew Studies. Students may pre-register or register in such courses only through the appropriate home department. However, many of these departments allow students minoring in Jewish or Hebrew Studies to pre-register, and minors interested in specific information about such opportunities should contact the Crown Center office.

The Yearly Course Planner lists the titles of all Jewish Studies courses scheduled for the current academic year. For full descriptions and scheduled times of the courses being offered in the current registration period, please click on Current Courses. In order to learn about the content of courses in Jewish Studies that are not being offered in the current registration period but will be again in the future, please see All Courses.
