Marcia B. Gealy is a Distinguished Senior Lecturer in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences where she teaches a variety of courses in the Writing Program, the Center for Writing Arts, and Comparative Literature. She has been recognized for excellence in teaching by Mortar Board and the Associated Student Government Honor Roll, and in 2002, she was appointed a Charles Deering McCormick Distinguished Lecturer. She received the Emily Award for teaching and advising from the Women’s Residential College for 2006-2007. Her research interests include the teaching of minority students and the storytelling tradition in Modern Jewish Literature, two fields in which she has published articles. She is a Senior Fellow at the Searle Center for Teaching Excellence, a reader for the Northwestern University Press, and has served as a Faculty Fellow at Jones and the Women's Residential College.
