Research
The department of psychology provides many opportunities for individuals to become involved in the research process. Many of the labs in the department have their own websites, which you can access via the "Laboratories" link to the left.
The "Participate in Research Studies" page provides information on opportunities to participate in research studies for either course credit or paid compensation. If you sign up for the Paid Participant Registry, you will be automatically notified when new studies become availalbe for paid participation. Alternatively, you can check out the page on Paid Research Opportunities to find individual listings for studies in which you might like to participate.
One of the best ways to learn more about psychological research is to help conduct research studies while working in a lab. Many labs offer research assistant positions for course credit (Psych 397/399) or on a volunteer basis. The postings on the "Become a Research Assistant" page list opportunities for a number of labs currently looking for research assistants. Additional advertisements for research assistants can be found on the bulletin board oustide the department office, Swift 102.
