Other Advising Resources
Information regarding speakers, courses, and other matters of interest to psychology students is posted on bulletin boards outside the psychology department office (Swift Hall 102).
Students considering graduate study in psychology can make use of three relevant books in the department office, the Insider's Guide to Graduate Programs in Clinical Psychology, Getting-In, and a book from the American Psychological Association containing brief descriptions of programs throughout the country. See Florence Sales in Swift Hall 102 if you would like to look at any of these books.
Weinberg College advisers are an excellent source of information and guidance for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are WCAS students. Similarly, WCAS freshmen can discuss a range of academic issues with their Freshman advisers. Extensive information about opportunities, requirements, and procedures in Weinberg College is also available through the Weinberg College undergraduate webpages.
The University Academic Advising Center is another important sources of information and advice for psychology majors and minors. Students interested in exploring career options available to those with degrees in psychology might benefit from a visit to Career Services at 620 Lincoln Street, phone 847-491-3700.
Another good source of advice for psychology students is other psychology students, whom you can find right there in your psychology classes and at meetings of the Undergraduate Psychology Association.
You can also learn more about our department, about our program, and about possible career paths for psychology students by exploring our psychology department webpages.
