GRAPES	UCLA Graduate and Postdoctoral Extramural Support (GRAPES) Database GRAPES contains information on scholarships, fellowships, internships, and awards for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Use search form or sign up for GRAPES RSS feed.
H-NET	Humanities and Social Sciences Net (H-Net) H-Net creates and coordinates Internet networks for research in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
IRIS	Illinois Researchers Information Service (IRIS) Search funding opportunities in all disciplines, view upcoming deadlines, and sign up for email notifications of new grant opportunities.
RRL	ResearchResearch Lite (formerly ScienceWise.Com) This new site offers custom email alerts and limited funding searches in all disciplines.
SPIN	Sponsored Programs Information Network infoED's search engine for federal grant opportunities. Northwestern will be adding to the capacity of this tool with SMARTS, a custom funding search alert, and GENIUS, a system for finding colleagues and experts in academic fields.
SSTI	(IL) State Science and Technology Institute Technology-based economic development. Sign up for weekly digest for Illinois.

DOE	US Department of Energy Besides funding for basic research on energy, the advancement of science, mathematics and technology education is an essential part of DOE's mission.
ED	US Dept. of Education Dept of ED has its own electronic grants system. Certain applications are received by Grants. gov.
GRANTS.GOV	Grants.gov Find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies. For assistance with Grants.gov procedures: [1] consult with Grant Coordinator, [2] OSR Grants.gov page, and [3] your OSR Grants and Contracts Officer.
NASA	National Aeronautics and Space Administration Subscription service for NASA research solicitation announcements.
NAS	The National Academies Sciences, Engineering, Medicine and Research. Links to associateship and fellowship opportunities, especially for young scientists.
NEH	National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) NEH supports research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities.
NIH	National Institutes of Health (NIH) U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services’ funding opportunities for medical and behavioral research. Sign up for the Weekly NIH Funding Opportunities and Notices listserve.
NSF	National Science Foundation (NSF) NSF awards grants for research and education in the sciences, mathematics, and engineering. MYNSF allows you to receive notifications about new content posted on the NSF website. Notification can be received via email or RSS.

BMBCB	Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology Resources for student and postdoctoral funding in the sciences. Search engine by categories of eligibility. Copious useful info.
CIRA	Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Arts List of external grant opportunities in the Arts, plus CIRA grants for NU faculty, graduate students and staff.
DRRC	Dispute Resolution Research Center Funding available from Kellogg for all NU faculty and graduate students for small research studies or seed money for major projects.
FELLOWSHIPS	Office of Fellowships The Office of Fellowships provides fellowship and scholarship information and assistance to NU undergraduate and graduate students. Advice on writing grant applications. Useful links.
FOUND.REL	Office of Foundations Relations Strategic assistance with foundation sponsored research funding. Current RFP’s from foundations. Listing of foundations and links.
LIFE/BIOMED	Office of Life and Biomedical Sciences Strategic Initiatives Supports and advances faculty research and the University's collective research enterprise by exploring, developing, facilitating, and overseeing the implementation of new research programs and initiatives. Good list of funding opportunity web sites for scientists.
OSR	Office of Sponsored Research Every department has one OSR Grants and Contracts Officer assigned to advise on, review and submit your grant applications. The OSR website provides information on and links to search engines, federal grants, limited submission funding competitions, and internal grants -- everything re research at NU.
OR/ VPR	Office of Research: The Guide for Research Information An excellent resource: A Guide to the life cycle of a research grant; including all the steps from researching funding opportunities, award administration, roles and responsibilities, to final closing out of your grant.
SoC	School of Communication Useful page with links to funding opportunities. Nb: resources for social scientists, humanists, artists, and scientists in communication related fields.
TGS	The Graduate School Graduate student fellowship and scholarship opportunities. Training grants coordinator and Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
URGC	University Research Grants Committee Individual Research/Creative Arts Grant Application and Subvention Grants for faculty in Divisions II and III (social sciences and humanities) of the WCAS, the School of Communication, SESP, and the School of Music. Regular full-time faculty, including tenure-track or tenured faculty at the assistant professor level or above, professional library staff members, and lecturers with continuing appointments are eligible to apply.
