Course Descriptions

Weinberg class schedules and registration information are posted on CAESAR two to three weeks before each quarterly registration, so course descriptions should be entered prior to that time. Department and program assistants need access to the Course Description Editor to enter and revise descriptions for the department/program.

REGISTRATION AND ENROLLMENT

Pre-Registration

Pre-registration begins the week before registration and lasts four days.  It is an opportunity for students who have declared certain majors and minors to register for up to two classes. Not all departments participate in pre-registration.

Approximately one week prior to pre-registration, the Registrar’s Office will send a reminder about pre-reg and instructions for controlling enrollment in your classes and maintaining majors/minors lists and student groups which may be necessary.

Course Management System

The Course Management System, also known as CMS or Blackboard, is an online system that allows students and faculty to share documents, submit assignments/tests, and view grades, among other features. Every course has its own section in the CMS, which is automatically created by the Office of the Registrar. Only the course instructor, teaching assistant, and enrolled students have access to that particular Course.
