Checking on Your Individual Network Storage Use

All faculty and staff in Weinberg have network storage, separated into individual work space and collaborative work space. Individual work space quotas are 20 GB per faculty member and 5 GB per staff member. Individual work space cannot be shared – use it for your e-mail backups and your personal work files.

To see how much of your individual work space you have used, follow the directions below:

Windows XP

1. Open My Computer.

2. Right click on the drive labeled with
   <first letter in your NetID>-home.ad.wcas.northwestern.edu/<NetID>.

3. Select Properties.

4. You will see a pie chart with the amount of used and free space in your individual network storage space.

OS X

1. Open the Hard Drive icon on your desktop.

2. Select the network drive for which you want to display usage
   <first letter in your NetID>-home.ad.wcas.northwestern.edu/<NetID>.

3. Hold down the Command key and type i.

4. The information screen will show the capacity (quota) and usage for your individual network storage space.
