Purchasing/Updating Software

All Windows and Mac computers purchased within Weinberg are set up by WeinbergIT with a standard software image. This enables WeinbergIT staff to increase the speed of installation for new computers. It also enables the IT staff to re-image a computer when there are complex software problems, preserving all of the user’s data and lowering the time to get them back up and running.

Weinberg College and Northwestern University maintain license agreements for faculty and staff for all software on the WeinbergIT Software Image; faculty and staff do not need to order or pay for this software. The WeinbergIT Software Image includes the following software:

WeinbergIT is not yet supporting Windows Vista; we continue to test it in our environment. When we have a planned support date for Windows Vista, we will post the information here.
