Graduate students in the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences are normally funded
for their first years of graduate study by a mix of
University Fellowships, Graduate (normally teaching)
Assistantships and, in the Social and Laboratory Sciences,
Research Assistantships (funded by research grants).
The details of aid vary from program to program and
are spelled out in the initial offer letter.
Summer
Research Fellowships are available to students
in some departments. Students should apply through
their department or program. Most departments
expect a short written proposal for summer research.
The Departmental
Nomination Form must reach the Dean's
Office by March 20, 2009. In addition to the application,
a Weinberg Acceptance Form is required from students at the time the award is accepted, and
a Departmental
Summary of Accomplishments Report
is required from departments at the end of the
summer.
The Department Administrator or Graduate Program Administrator for your
department or program is your first contact for questions regarding
funding.
